Results of the 2-day conference titled “Inspection Methodologies and Project Monitoring Practices”


Last week, the works of the 2-day conference that was organized by the Special Managing Service of OPIS under the title “Inspection Methodologies and Project Monitoring Practices” were successfully completed at Divani Palace Acropolis hotel.


During the conference, the completed results of the planning and methodology standardization works associated with on-site inspections and the optimum practices of financial monitoring and audit of the legitimacy procedures implemented and applied in more than 50 on-site project inspections (within the framework of the project “External Services of technical support of the monitoring and audit work of SMS of OPIS” included in Axis 5 of OPIS) were presented.

The major objectives of the conference were to clarify issues of financial monitoring, to inform and train the attendants on the monitoring and audit of legitimacy of the project implementation and publicity procedures, as well as to finalize the methodologies, tools and inspection techniques of projects financed by the European Social Fund or the European Regional Development Fund and to integrate these to the quality system ISO 9001:2000 of the SMS, which is at the final stage prior to certification.

Ultimate Beneficiaries of the programme with significant and large projects being in the implementation phase were invited to the Conference. During the event, questions were raised by the Ultimate Beneficiaries and comments were made which the SMS of OPIS shall take into account when reforming the methodologies and applying the practices of financial monitoring and audit of legitimacy procedures of projects.
